The right to vote

Over here in the US the right to vote is considered to be a fundamental one. People who have the right to vote feel proud and take it as their supreme duty to do it. After all, isn’t that what democracy is all about?
Pfff… Enough with this! Said a guy who thinks women should not be allowed to vote and clearly makes the case that the end of America started with the women’s right to vote. The whole article of the nutcase here: http://www.norcalblogs.com/post_scripts/2009/03/womens_right_to_vote_the_1.html

The arguments that this nice gentleman brings are tied to the fact that women are supposed to be more emotional than logical human beings. From here it goes on blabering about how many ridiculous laws have been passed based on this emotional pressure from women (and probably men influenced by women) and how the root of all that’s evil has to do with taking quick emotional decisions (I bet women are responsible for political correctness). The peak is represented by the stranded polar bear:

It is this very emotional kind of feelings that is getting Americans to go along with Global Warming? Think about it? Who isn’t moved by the picture of the cute little white furry polar bear who is stranded upon a floating ice berg? The fact that polar bears can swim and average of 100 miles without even tiring matters not a bit, because logic does not play a role in the debate. These days, a politician cannot raise taxes to save the planet from the evil humans without using emotion.

Okay, so the emotional judgment is the only one to blame. And women are at the root. Hahahahaha.

And because it feels like the author really tried to make a point I will try helping him.

Emotional behavior is related to human nature. It’s not something that only women posses. So to completely eliminate this I think that only robots/computers should be allowed to vote. Think about it: you’re average Joe voter mostly votes based on emotional factors (how good the candidate looks, how tall it his, how pretty is his face). Something should be awfully wrong with a candidate for people to actually vote on logical reasons. A computer could run a simulation and see what the outcome of the political blabbering of a politician is (I like to think it could, but probably this isn’t doable today. At least the computer will try as opposed to the how tall criteria :) ). Computer’s right to vote would be correlated with their processing power. Who said that all computers are created equal?

Of course there would be some problems at first (how do you make sure only american computers vote? Who takes care of those comp/uters? What’s the overall process?) but I put this to the technical side of the problem. These can be solved in time. But predicting how humans behave based on their emotions? I don’t think so.
