The Burger Gym (Losing weight saga – 2)

Here is another episode from the Losing weight saga.

It’s kind of obvious that if you want to lose weight, your intake must be lower than what you’re consuming. Simple, huh? In that sense, your body will start burning fat and you’ll lose the excess weight. Well, at least that’s the theory. There are two ways that you can make the difference between the intake and the consumption be negative. First is to reduce the intake, second is to increase the consumption. Ideally, you’re doing both.

Part of increasing the consumption is regular physical exercise, that you usually do in the gym.  No secret here. It’s either aerobic or anaerobic exercise that helps you burn some calories.

So part of my saga, I go to the gym. Some could say a lot. More than most people anyway.

As I am there on the stepper, or the bicycle, or the climbing the stairs machines (you get the picture) I usually watch the giant flat screen TVs that the nice people that manage the gym have installed there. TVs that are showing some popular TV channels (CNN/FOX/ESPN/etc). It’s usually a good way of making the time pass a bit more faster. Except for when the commercials kick in. And every time the commercials kick in, the biggest WTF comes with the fast food commercials. Is it Arby? Maybe Wendy. Or Quiznos. Or why not Burger King. And there you have it: you’re watching fast food commercials, in a gym while you’re trying to stay healthy or get healthy. Isn’t it ironic?
