Here we are again, with another post about my quest to lose weight and keep it off! When I say quest, it’s more in a broad term than in a particular one. Because in cases like this it’s not really a quest, it’s about changing the way you live and learning how to make the right choice, every single time. So in that sense the “quest” will never be over.
I think the problem is not necessarily what the correct choice is. We, human beings always know or can learn what the right choice. Depending on the context it can be eating healthy, working out, having good habits etc. You get the picture. The real problem is being able to make the choice, to overcome bad habits and to think further than the 10 minutes of instant gratification that we would get by doing something really dumb. It’s hard. But I think it’s possible with the right mindset.
I like to think that adopting a healthy lifestyle is comparable to quitting smoking. You cannot partially quit smoking, you have to do it for good and you have to stick with the decision you make. It’s a conscious decision that you make. The same can be said in case of the lifestyle, maybe with the exception that you’re making a decision to do something instead of stopping doing something.

Great post!
It is about making the right decisions and it’s difficult to do when no one has taught you how to make the right ones!

Good for you man — getting one’s weight under control is of the utmost importance to staying healthy.
However, it’s “losing,” not “loosing”. As in you lose weight, which makes your pants loose.
@Anonymous: Thanks – not a native so this kind of things are not as rare as I would want them to be. I’ll make the correction (everywhere
