Geocaching

Few thoughts about an interesting activity that I’ve picked up lately: geocaching.

It’s about finding hidden containers based on their GPS coordinates (in a nutshell – basic version). May sound easy, but the real terrain looks a bit different than you see it on the web. Also may sound easy, but the precision with which the coordinates are given may vary. You may also receive small hints that can help you locate the cache sometimes.

Why I’ve picked it up? It’s fun to do, you get some exercise doing it and you are able to explore new places in which you wouldn’t normally go. I also find it challenging – in a good way – to orient myself in space (this comes from someone who gets lost in a the parking garage of a big mall :) )

Find the whole story at: http://www.geocaching.com/ You need to register to be able to view the coordinates of the caches.
