When you’re moving you get a new address. Here in the US there are a couple of places which need to know your new address. Here is a list of them, to serve as my external memory when/if we’ll move again:
- the Bank(s) – where you keep your money
- your Employer(s)
- Postal Service – set up mail forwarding from the old address to the new address
- the USCIS (Immirations) – by filling in form AR 11 online: https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=coa – applies only to non-US citizens
- Department of Licensing – for your driver’s license – can usually be done through mail
- Department of Motor Vehicles – for your car’s registration – can usually be done online
- Auto Insurance Company
- Your health care provider(s)
- Electric Energy Provider
- Internet Provider / Cable Provider – these two usually come in a bundle
- Phone Company
- Netflix – only if you have a subscription
- Your favorite supermarket chain(s) – if you get some sort of reward coupons from them through mail
- Your health club – if any
- Any magazine subscriptions that you may have
If you can think of something else we can always add it to the list
